Where to find jobs?

There are many portals who list jobs available in UAE/Gulf/Dubai, some the popular portals includes:

  1. Helpistan.com

  2. Mourjan.com

  3. Naukrigulf.com

And many others.

Apart from this you can also use LinkedIn, in case you want to come to Dubai or another part of the UAE, you can use LinkedIn to get connected with people. You should have a good LinkedIn Profile and focus on LinkedIn because getting a job in Dubai directly is difficult, so better you first create connections with People working in Dubai and then use these connections  to apply for the jobs here. That will increase your chances of  getting the job many fold.

Many companies follow Applicant Tracking System (ATS) for managing the jobs and candidates resumes, so make sure your resume is ATS friendly. See How to make an ATS friendly resume? Almost every company has an ATS system and your resume is rejected automatically if your resume is not ATS friendly, so make sure it is friendly and you have an ATS friendly resume.

Are government approved placement agencies good for jobs?

Government approved placement agencies work for most Blue Collar Jobs and if you are not looking for these kinds of jobs, these agencies may not help you in getting a job.

Are Asians preferred in jobs as compared to Europeans or Americans?

Unfortunately, based on the feedback received from many job seekers, Asians are not a first choice for jobs in the Gulf. They prefer Europeans or Americans over Asians in jobs. This is a deciding factor for the position, salary and selection.

Does GCC matter for securing a job in the Dubai/Gulf/UAE?

If you have GCC experience i.e.if you have experience working in the Middle East then getting a job is comparatively easier. then securing a job for the first time in the Gulf. So if you have worked in the gulf earlier then highlight that fact in the resume so that the recruiter can shortlist you.

Does referral work in getting a job in Dubai/Gulf/UAE or Middle east?

Another important factor in getting a job is to have a referral from someone in the company or someone who is linked to the company. The chances of getting a job is strong if your referral is strong. So referral becomes the most important factor in getting a job. So we recommend you to have someone who can refer you to a job.Referral can be by anyone including relatives, friends or linkedin connections. They can help you with any job in Dubai.

If you have any relative who can refer you to a company wherein you can work for five or six months and then you can have your Emirates ID. Also make sure you do not come in July and August or September because it's usually they do not hire during these months but after that they hire like crazy and they have walk-in interviews. ATS system usually also asks you to tell the company whether you are in Dubai or not so many a times while filling the application it would ask you whether you're in Dubai or not so if you select yes your application gets approved otherwise they directly reject it so if you plan to come to Dubai that might help you a lot.
